What is evidence-based education?

It's the principle that education practices should be based on the best available scientific evidence, rather than tradition, personal judgement, or other influences.

Direct Instruction

The teacher is the most important variable in the classroom. Regular explicit direct instruction is the most effective way to improve student performance. [1]

Phonics

Phonemic awareness is paramount for early readers. Students should learn to sound out letters as their primary strategy for reading. [2]

Knowledge-Rich Curriculum

Background knowledge and vocabulary is critical for both reading and writing comprehension. You can't think critically unless you have something to think critically about. Adopt a curriculum with rich vocabulary, historical events, frameworks, and mainstream references. [3]
